Frequently Asked Questions

What will classes be like?

9-10AM class This class is designed for kids around 3-5 years old. In these sessions we will explore some of the fundamentals of art making, learning to draw and paint, as well as introductions to a variety of mixed media. There will also be sensory play activities available and a focus on the creativity of making art with an emphasis on FUN! ‍ 2-3PM & 4-5PM Classes These classes are designed for kids around the ages of 6-10 who are wanting to have fun with art and develop their own creative style. We will be working with several different art mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolor, mixed media/collage, and drawing. There will be weekly lessons for the students to follow, however they will have the opportunity to create how they want and practice and explore different art styles.

At what age can kids attend classes?

Classes are currently split into two different age groups, morning classes are for students 3-5 years old and our afternoon classes are for students 6-10 years old. I am planning to have art classes for teens up and running in 2024.

Can parents attend a class?

All classes are drop off classes however parents are welcome to stay for the 3-5 year old classes if their child requires some extra support or feels more comfortable with their parent staying. There is limited space in the studio so I would ask that just one parent per student stay.

How many students per class?

There are up to 4 students in the 3-5 year old classes and there are up to 6 students in the 6-10 year old classes.

What if I can’t make it to the class?

Refunds for missed classes will not be offered but if there is a planned absence, please let me know and we might be able to work you into another class.

Where should I park when I bring my child to The Art Room?

Since The Art Room is a home based studio, I would ask that you please park on the street and walk your child up the driveway to The Art Room door so that nobody gets parked in!

What should my child wear?

Please have your child wear play clothes that can get messy!! Aprons will be provided, but they may not keep the mess out entirely.
