Frequently Asked Questions

What will classes be like?

Mini Artist Class – This is a 45 minute process art class designed for kids around 3-5 years old. In this class the kids have the freedom to explore the art materials and have fun creating! In these sessions we will explore different sensory play activities to start the lesson, we will then work on our main art project and end the lesson with a playdough station.

After School Art Class – This is a 1 hour process art class designed for kids around the ages of 6-10 who are wanting to have fun with art and develop their own creative style. We will be working with several different art mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolor, mixed media/collage, and drawing. There will be weekly lessons for the students to follow, however they will have the opportunity to create how they want and practice and explore different art styles.

Advanced Art Class – This is a 1 hour advanced art class for students around the ages of 11-15 years old who want to have fun with art and also develop their own creative style. We will work on a different art project each week. Art mediums include drawing, printmaking, painting, collage and more. Students will have the opportunity to create how they want and practice and explore different art techniques so they can discover their own artistic process.

At what age can kids attend classes?

Classes are currently split into three different age groups. Mini Artist classes are for students 3-5 years old and our after school art classes are for students 6-10 years old. We now also offer an Advanced art class for students 11-15 years old.

Can parents attend a class?

All classes are drop off classes however parents are welcome to stay for the 3-5 year old classes if their child requires some extra support or feels more comfortable with their parent staying. There is limited space in the studio so I would ask that just one parent per student stay.

How many students per class?

There are up to 4 students in the Mini Artist classes and there are up to 6 students in the After School art classes and the Advanced art classes.

What if I can’t make it to the class?

Refunds for missed classes will not be offered but if there is a planned absence, please let me know and we might be able to work you into another class.

Where should I park when I bring my child to The Art Room?

Since The Art Room is a home based studio, I would ask that you please park on the street and walk your child up the driveway to The Art Room door so that nobody gets parked in!

What should my child wear?

Please have your child wear play clothes that can get MESSY!! Aprons will be provided, but they may not keep the mess out entirely.
